OUR STORY
Grace Apostolic Church is dedicated to building the kingdom, staying relevant in the lives of everyday people living in a changing world and helping members experience the daily power of God's eternal love.
Grace Apostolic Church was founded in 1967 in Washington, D.C., by Elder Joseph Garlington. Upon the church’s inception, services were initially held in the Odd Fellows Lodge located in Northwest Washington, D.C.
In 1968, Grace joined the District of Columbia, Delaware, and Maryland District Council of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (P.A.W). A year later, Elder Clem Humphrey began pastoring the church.
In 1986, Earnest L. Pendleton was unanimously elected pastor and in 2007, under his direction, the Grace family moved into a new sanctuary. This sanctuary can hold up to 650 people and has an Education Center that houses over 12 classrooms.
In 2013, Pastor Pendleton was inducted into the bishopric of the P.A.W. and resides as bishop over the Del., Md., D.C., District Council of the P.A.W.
Over the years, Bishop Pendleton has worked diligently to grow the church and nurture members. In 2020, the church and council were quick to respond to the coronavirus pandemic by ensuring members' safety and creating a virtual space for prayer and worship on Zoom, Facebook Live and Livestream MORE

WHAT WE BELIEVE
THE WORD: We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative word of God.
THREE IN ONE: We believe there is only one God manifested as Father, Son and Holy Ghost, and that Jesus was the Eternal Father made visible. We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His atoning death and in His bodily resurrection.
SALVATION: We believe that to be saved you must be born again, which includes genuine repentance, water baptism in Jesus name, and receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance.
THE APOSTOLIC DOCTRINE: We are fully committed to the Apostolic Doctrine, which is found in the New Testament and called "acts of the Apostles." That is where the origin and development of the church of our Lord Jesus Christ is found. This church was directed by the apostles and the teachings, revelations, and mysteries that He imparted to them through His Spirit.
LAST DAYS: We believe that these are the last days, and that the rapture is for born-again believers and the personal return of Jesus Christ to His church.
