your salvation
Are you saved? How do you know you’re saved?
Faith in Jesus Christ is accepting that we cannot save ourselves or carry the heavy loads of life on our own. We believe in His death, burial, and resurrection for the forgiveness of our sins and as the very picture of our own salvation. It is by His grace that we are saved through faith, and not by our own good works. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).”
Repentance (our death) is an essential part of the journey. We must confess that we are sinners and ask God to forgive us. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (I John 1:8-9).”
Water Baptism (our burial) is not merely a symbolic ritual. It is part of entering into the kingdom of God (God’s church, the bride of Christ), and therefore, it is not merely a part of local church membership. “For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ (Galatians 3:27).”
Spiritual Baptism (our resurrection) is the seal of God on our lives. It is the Spirit of Christ working in and through us, anointing us with power as witnesses and citizens of the kingdom of God. “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:3-7).”

REPENT FROM WRONGDOINGTurn from sin; feel and express regret, remorse, or contrition for your sins and wrongdoing; change your mind, change your ways
Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19). I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance (Luke 5:32). For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death (2 Corinthians 7:10). The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). |
BE BAPTIZED (IN JESUS' NAME)Be purified/cleansed, submerged in water while calling on the Lord, and your sins will be washed away
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:16). Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38). When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus (Acts 19:5). And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord (Acts 22:16). |
receive powerAccept your gift of the Holy Ghost; God’s power in action working through you; speak, sing, and pray in tongues (in the Spirit)
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth (Acts 1:8). And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance (Acts 2:4). Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost (Acts 8:17). While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word (Acts 10:44). |
