First Lady Lana J. Pendleton

serves as Grace Apostolic Church's minister of music. Sister Lana Jo found her place in music at her home church, Faith Temple, in San Antonio, where she received the Holy Ghost at the age of 10 and eventually met Bishop Pendleton.

In 1967, they were married and moved to Silver Spring, Md., where they joined Grace.

Since then, Sister Pendleton has served as a Sunday School teacher and secretary, financial secretary for the Missionary Auxiliary of the District of Columbia, Delaware and Maryland District Council, and secretary of the Ministers' Wives Auxiliary. She directs the Apostolic Voices choir, leads the New Members' Class, and is president of the council's Ministers and Deacons' Wives Auxiliary.

She is devoted to Bishop Pendleton, their home and three children, who are all saved and actively working in the church. She has a host of biological grandchildren, and other children that call her "Mother Pendleton."

Sister Pendleton is retired, after working for the Communications Workers of America for more than 30 years.
